Weight Management Service
The Weight Management Service in St. Columcille’s Hospital Loughlinstown, Co. Dublin, is a public service that is run by the Health Service Executive (HSE). The clinical lead for the service is Professor Donal O’Shea. The staff that run the clinic are Dietitians, Physiotherapists and Psychologists.
When people attend our clinic they enrol in a one year lifestyle and behaviour change programme. This is delivered by the dietitian, physiotherapist and psychologist.
During the year it is hoped that you will attend us for a total of 9 appointments. If you are interested in Bariatric surgery we can refer you to our associated surgical service. This generally happens 6 months into your time with us and is dependant on how appropriate this option is for you.
Aims of the Clinic

- Learn skills to manage your weight and find the healthiest lifestyle that will suit you.
- Improve your quality of life with small changes to your eating and activity habits.
